NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow

Job overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly changing neurology service in a regional neuroscience centre, based in a diverse and attractive city. Your role will be key in delivering high quality, accessible care for people with acute and long-term neurological illness in wards and clinics.

This post includes a requirement for out-of-hours working, providing middle-grade cover for Neurology and Stroke (including Thrombolysis and Thrombectomy)

This is a 12-month Fixed Term post.

Main duties of the job

This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain ST4-level (and above) experience within the rapidly evolving field of Neurology at The Walton Centre.

As part of a consultant-led team, you will play an integral role in delivering acute neurology services at The Walton Centre and neighbouring trusts. The role involves providing middle-grade support for inpatient care at The Walton Centre and delivering a liaison neurology service at Liverpool University Hospitals, under the supervision of experienced neurology consultants.

You will be expected to lead a team of resident doctors (F2 to IMT3). We are particularly keen to appoint an individual with, or wishing to develop, a subspecialty interest. A tailored job plan will be provided to accommodate regular outpatient clinics in the relevant specialty area.

The successful candidate will also participate in the regional neurology on-call rota, which is a 24-hour non-resident rota covering the wider network.

The Centre also offers opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement, education, and research.
