Paediatric Clinical Governance Coordinator and PA to Directorate Manager, Clinical Director and Matron; responsible for providing a highly confidential PA service, providing administrative support and assistance.

Main duties of the job
To be the lead for the paediatric clinical governance agenda with responsibility for keeping all paediatric and neonatal procedural documents current, in date and in line with all the relevant NICE/RCPCH guidelines and standards and to support with the policy harmonisation process.
To provide PA support to the Directorate Manager, Clinical Director and Matron.

Acute Care
Providing emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.

Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.
Community Services
Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GSCE Grade C in Maths and English, or equivalent
- RSA 3 Typing/Word Processing, or equivalent
- Secretarial/PA Diploma
- Business Technology NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Shorthand and Speedwriting
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience of taking formal minutes/notes, producing, and updating action plans
- Significant experience in a similar role or equivalent knowledge
- Previous medical secretary or PA experience
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills, able to communicate highly sensitive, confidential information professionally at all levels
- Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Power point, Publisher, and Excel
- Understanding of the importance of good Information Governance and the confidential nature of the role
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently to solve problems, deal with multiple issues, prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships
