Do you want to be part of an innovative cardiac, pulmonary and respiratory therapy service offering the highest quality care for patients?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapy Team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospital for a Therapy Assistant.
The role does include clinical, administrative and clinical audit duties and therefore good technology and communication skills are essential
The ideal candidate will have experience working within therapy rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job
To complete admin tasks to support the running of the team.
To complete data inputting and outcoming of appointments using the hospital computer systems in a timely manner.
To support with setting up the gym / therapy area.
To establish a therapeutic relationship with patients under the direction of the registered therapists.
To report back to supervising staff regarding the individual needs/abilities of patients.
To liaise with members of the MDT and external agencies to ensure the effective management of patients care
To accept responsibility for delegated workload and manage own time effectively.
To record and report findings accurately and in a timely manner according to standard procedure.

Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

- NVQ III in health related subject or equivalent
- Care certificate or willingness to undertake
- GCSE Maths and English - Grade 4 or above
