Are you an enthusiastic Staff Nurse looking for a new challenge? 


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Staff Nurse to join the dedicated and highly-skilled Team of Nursing and Medical Staff within Gynaecology Specialist services clinics. 


We are seeking a motivated individual, with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care to join our highly skilled Team of Nursing and Medical Staff. The post will be mainly working within our colposcopy clinics but does includes working within other gynaecology speciality clinics also.


Our Gynaecology services provided include;

  • Rapid Access – Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit
  • Rapid Access Clinics for post-menopausal bleeding / hysteroscopy
  • Colposcopy
  • Cancer Surgery as part of the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Network
  • Urology
  • Minor Procedures – ODP
  • Major & Day Case Surgery


The post holder must be enthusiastic, with a flexible approach to the working environment.

An Enhanced DBS Certificate, with the checking of both the Children’s and Adults’ Barred Lists is required for this post. 

Main duties of the job

  • Practice at all times within the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Practice.
  • To attend trust statutory and mandatory training as required and any other training courses relevant to the post.
  • To present an appearance which gives a positive image of the trust and a manner which is appropriate and inspires confidence.
  • To ensure fulfilment of the requirements for the professional updating and maintain a personal record for future registration purposes.

  • Ensure individualise care plans are in place for all patients in the designated clinical area.
  • To ensure privacy and dignity of patients is paramount and not compromised.
  • Ensure effective communication processes are in place to meet the needs of patients, relatives and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Responsible for setting an agreed standard of patient care and ensuring its delivery, monitored by audit.
  • Provide clinical and professional advice to other members of the nursing team
  • Report untoward incidents/accidents in accordance with the trust policy, ensuring a datix is completed.
  • Set a high standard of record keeping regarding patient care which is comprehensive, concise and valid

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
