Job overview
Due to internal promotion of the previous post holders, we are looking for Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly team.
Whether your background is working in a hospital or you are working in a community pharmacy or a GP surgery and you are looking for a change in direction, all training and any support you need will be provided by our friendly team.
You should be highly motivated, eager to learn and looking to challenge yourself. You should also be organised and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
We are a busy department and therefore it is essential that you can work accurately under pressure and are able to manage and prioritise your workload efficiently.

Main duties of the job
Participate in the technician rotation programme which currently includes dispensary, pharmacy satellites and aseptic services. (see JD for full role) Posts are 37:30 hours per week worked between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays 1-2 per year. **Part time hours will be considered. If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard/enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
As this vacancy is within the division of Women’s and Children’s, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment

Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
- Must be registered with General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain
- Working in a pharmacy
- Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems
Desirable criteria
- Accredited Accuracy Checker
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- JAC stock control system
Knowledge and Skills

- Interpret and dispense prescriptions accurately
- Good written communication skills
- Word processing, email, accurate data entry skills
