Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy department within the Medical Education Team.
We look forward to receiving applications from those who are looking for a challenging and rewarding role.
The successful candidate would benefit from knowledge of Medical Education. They would need to be confident with public speaking and dealing with large numbers of Undergraduate Medical students; including presenting during lecture theatre sessions / inductions.
They will act as administrator/co-ordinator for Undergraduate Medical Students; organising placements and teaching timetables. Assisting with the day to day running of the Undergraduate Centre.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the wider Medical Education team as required.
A multi-assessment test will take place during interview.
Main duties of the job
- Arrange, oversee, and partake in the delivery of student inductions.
- Liaise with Consultants, Allied Health Professionals and staff of all grades, both in person and via email/phone, to arrange suitable student placements; supporting students to meet University requirements.
- Liaise with Clinical Skills and Simulation teams to organise the delivery of mandatory clinical teaching.
- Support the running of the Undergraduate Centre facilities, ensuring smooth running of all scheduled activity.
- Maintain accurate records

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 3 GCSE’s (Grades A- C) , which must include Maths and English
- Advanced computer/keyboard skills including knowledge of Microsoft office packages such as Word, Powerpoint, Excel and outlook.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administration role
- Customer Service experience
Desirable criteria
- ECDL qualification
- NVQ or apprenticeship in Business Admin level 3 in administration or equivalent
- Previous experience in Medical Education
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Undergraduate Medical Education as required by the University of Liverpool
