Job overview
We have 2 Clinic Clerk vacancies within the Central Outpatient department.
Working Hours will be Monday - Friday (maybe required to work some Saturdays ). Posts will be 35 hours
This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated and enthusiastic person to take on a challenging and sometimes pressurised role. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You should have a polite, friendly manner, and be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information professionally.
This vacancy is being advertised as an apprenticeship and as such the salary for the role if reflective of this. Those who currently hold and can evidence the essential qualifications need not apply. Your application will not be shortlisted if you hold the essential qualification(s).
Although English and Maths at level 2 is not required for the role, it is a requirement to complete the apprenticeship and need to be in place by the end of the apprenticeship. If you do not hold or cannot evidence English and Maths at level 2 then support will be provided for the successful applicant(s) as part of the Trust’s apprenticeship offer. ***
Main duties of the job
Whilst this role is being advertised as a permanent position, there is an expectation that the successful applicant must complete all elements of the apprenticeship. Initially, the successful applicant will be placed on a fixed term apprenticeship contract for the duration of the programme. Upon completion of the apprenticeship and providing all additional milestones are met, the successful applicant will be issued a permanent contract.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Experience of working in an administrative role
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject
- Previous experience in an NHS acute hospital
- Previous experience of the Cerner Millennium information system
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Basic working knowledge of IT
- Good verbal and written communication skills
