Job overview
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Surgical Division for an Assistant Directorate Manager.
The postholder will focus on operational management supporting the Directorate Manager to ensure robust processes are in place to;
- deliver the elective plan
- deliver Referral to Treatment (RTT) metrics
- deliver cancer metrics (28 day/62 day/104 day).
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of operational management, be self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal and IT skills.
You will have the ability to develop and lead specific projects and manage any associated change processes and attend core meetings both on behalf of, and in the absence of the Directorate Manager. The ability to analyse data and make recommendations for improvement is a key part of this role.
An important responsibility for the postholder is to continually review and improve on cancer performance, working with the Consultant Leads and the Directorate Manager to implement best practice clinical pathways and monitor performance against them.
You will lead a team of Business Support Managers, Business Support Administrators and secretaries and be expected to work closely with the Directorate Manager, Consultant Surgeons and Assistant Nurse Practitioners.
There will be a requirement to produce reports reflecting the current position of the service and present at business meetings and directorate meetings as required.
The postholder will also be responsible for investigating and responding to formal patient complaints and Fairness at Work grievances.
You will be a Senior Leader within the Surgical Division and be a role model to the team and demonstrate the Trust's core values and behaviours.
