Job overview

Are you a dynamic leader who can effectively lead a team of Peri-operative Practitioners   to deliver high class quality care at the Clatterbridge site

The Directorate of Peri-operative Medicine is seeking to recruit an experienced Perioperative Practitioner to join the leadership team at Clatterbridge. You will be instrumental in delivering quality and activity for Surgical Patients

The Clatterbridge theatres are GIRFT accredited and was nominated recently for a HSJ award for collaboration with The Countess of Chester Hospital as part of the Cheshire and Mersey collaborative.

In 2023 we built four new state of the art theatres, recovery, staff rest room and Surgical Admissions Unit. The new theatres are a pleasure to work in with large anaesthetic rooms, operating theatres and prep rooms. This supports the well being of staff as they are working in a new and spacious area, which they developed.

The four new theatres are an addition to the six theatres already on the site (five orthopaedic and five General Surgery/Urology/Breast).

Main duties of the job

With responsibility for the day to day management of  workforce, clinical specialism and patient flow,  you will lead change within these departments supporting the perioperative improvement programme.

The potential post holder will report directly to the Perioperative Matron, linking with the ADN of Perioperative Medicine forging  close partnerships with other senior leaders in both the directorate and Surgical division.

The post holder will provide strong leadership, and be a visible, credible senior presence, be accessible to staff patients and families where required.

As successful candidate you will be responsible and accountable for safety, quality and workforce within your team working collaboratively with wider teams to deliver the highest quality care to patients.

This post is open to both NMC registered Nurses and HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners.

We are looking for a highly motived, passionate health care professional who possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to motivate and negotiate and is passionate about perioperative care.
