Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Recovery team at Clatterbridge Theatres . We have 10 theatres covering Orthopaedics, General, Urology, Gynaecology , Opthalmics .
We have 12 recovery bays and an Enhanced Recovery Unit which has 6 bays
This role includes the following shift patterns :
Days, Weekends , and night shifts
Main duties of the job
Participate under the supervision of the specialist core team members in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care for all patients during the perioperative period( utilising and adapting transferable skills acquired during training)
Maintain accurate records of the theatre episode with Trust Departmental policies
Promote safety, wellbeing and interests of patients ,staff and visitors to the clinical area
Promote clinical governance by actively participating in the risk management process within the trust
Value and respect individuals by actively adopting the trust core values and behaviuors

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Are you newly qualified, due to qualify or work currently in the Recovery Department
We are looking for enthusiastic team members who provide the highest standards of care, are forward thinking and strive to provide the best experience to patients on their perioperative journey. The potential candidates should be able to work within the multidisciplinary team of the recovery and be the patient’s advocate.
In return, we can support practitioners to gain the skills they need to develop both their leadership and clinical journeys.
We are able to offer you education and training (role specific) in:
- Advanced Life Support
- Paediatric Life Support
- Post registration Degree pathways in:
- Healthcare leadership and management
- Perioperative care of the patient
- Care Certification
- Quality Assessment Framework in clinical support activities
- Modern Apprentices - both registered and unregistered
- Masters Level education (course dependent)
- Mentorship
- Preceptorship
The successful candidate will be supported into their new role with a preceptorship pack for new starters, a period of supervised practice for registered practitioners and a local training programme for all staff who start within perioperative medicine.
The directorate is supported by a dedicated perioperative education team who will provide induction, guidance, and support during your career at WUTH.
