Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and professional Digital Programme Lead to join the newly formed Digital Transformation Team at CTMUHB. As an integral part of the Digital & Data Directorate, the team have a rapidly expanding portfolio of challenging and interesting programmes on the horizon, including; electronic prescribing and medicines administration, transforming patient contact services and several smaller projects supporting direct care.

Under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Digital Transformation, the successful candidate will be expected to lead an enterprise wide, complex programme of work that will transform services to deliver better outcomes for our patients, citizens and families, as outlined in the Health Board’s strategy CTM 2030. 

Main duties of the job

As an experienced senior leader and programme manager operating in the NHS, you will possess the skills to navigate the complex healthcare system and have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams across organisational boundaries to deliver programme and strategic objectives

Candidates will have a demonstrable record of project/programme management and delivery within digital transformation health care environment. As well as experience in overseeing both technical and clinical project teams to deliver system change. Abilities should include; outstanding engagement and communication skills, with the aptitude to negotiate with all levels of stakeholders, including external partners, such as; Digital Health and Care Wales, Welsh Government, 3rd Party Suppliers, Community Services.

Experience of designing programme plans, robust governance, with clear timelines and deliverables will be fundamental.

As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate must demonstrate compassionate leadership, role modelling the values of the organisation and be a proactive and positive member of the team. You will have line management responsibility for several team members, supporting their personal and professional development

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Lead an enterprise wide programme of work.  Manage, plan, drive and provide specialist support digital transformation plan, which focus on improving service delivery and outcomes across end to end processes, in line with financial and operational plans. This will enable improvements in operational performance and quality at reduced cost. This will strategically impact on the delivery of services across the Health Board to support commissioning processes in the future.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to a Masters Level or equivalent (gained through knowledge and experience)
  • Principles, methods, techniques and tools for effective project management (Prince II).
Desirable criteria
  • PRINCE II and/or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) qualification.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of operating at a senior management or strategic development role within a complex organisation.
  • Leadership development
  • Engagement of resistors in change programmes.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills giving the ability to influence at senior levels.
