The position of Service Director, Facilities, will be an integral part of the senior leadership team and play a key role in the further development and improvements of the services we offer.
This is more than a technical role; you will need to be passionate about leadership and have the ability to engage people in your vision and take them on a journey.
Providing strategic direction and leadership in the development and implementation of the overall facilities directorate and transformation agenda. This will require effective engagement of stakeholders to ensure high quality services are provided.
Main duties of the job
The duties will include:
- As a senior member of the leadership team, accountable for leading and delivering the Facilities Management agenda, the post holder will deliver efficient and effective facilities services, and ensure robust performance management arrangements are in place to continuously deliver high-quality, and cost-effective services.
- Provide effective and strategic professional leadership taking operational accountability for the delivery of all facilities across the Health Board.
- Being accountable for the future development of Facilities, to include people and operational systems and amenities therein, providing effectual and strategic professional leadership and management whilst taking operational responsibility for delivering quality facilities management services which include Domestic Services, Maeth Central Production Unit, Patient Catering, Retail, Portering, Post, Switchboard, Accommodation, Security, Car Parking, Grounds and Gardens, Waste Management, Transport and Logistics and any other appropriate services.
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Team and Senior Management Teams in the development and delivery of modernised and patient focused services across CTMUHB, by providing innovative and pro-active advice and support to the organisation on Facilities strategies and approaches.
- Be accountable for total the budget and CRES scheme delivery.

The Service Director Facilities will provide effective leadership will be required CTMUHB-wide and National facilities management, strategies and plans, facilities development, and implementation of a facilities managerial strategy.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Master’s Degree level in a relevant discipline or experience in management, leadership or relevant discipline
Desirable criteria
- Chartered professional qualification within the Soft Facilities Management profession
- Advanced Food Hygiene: Institution of Environmental Health Officers. HACCP Level 4 (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points - Food Manufacturing)
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Facilities Management commissioning process and how this relates to working within an Acute NHS Organisation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven track record of working within the Facilities Management profession
- Proven experience of leading the delivery of services within tight financial constraints and effective budget management
- Proven experience of the development and implementation of strategic, annual business, financial capital and workforce plans
Desirable criteria
- Strong commercial expertise
