Job overview
If you are motivated and enthusiastic about working with young people experiencing mental health issues then you will be excited to hear that a permanent Activity Co-ordinator post has become available within our team.
The successful applicant will work as part of a large Multi-disciplinary-team in the delivery of care and treatment for young people aged 12-18 based in a CAMHS inpatient setting.
The role will involve delivery of a Therapeutic Time-table within Ty Llidiard, working jointly with Nurses, Therapists and Education colleagues. The post holder will Co-ordinate, initiate and participate in activities, which will be both on and off the Unit with access to a unit minibus and activity resources.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under the direction of the Ward Manager, providing social, recreational, physical and leisure activities to young people aged 12-18 whilst in-patients at Ty-Llidiard.
The direction of the work will be to enhance the recovery pathway via the facilitation of psychosocial interventions for young people experiencing serious mental illness, and will include therapeutic based groups as well as social, vocational and physical activities.
The post holder will help develop an activity based culture within Ty-Llidiard, and facilitate Ward and Community based activities tailored to the needs of young people.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see ‘Welsh Language Guidance’ in the documents right at the bottom.
