Job overview
Main duties of the job
· Be responsible for promoting and monitoring that ‘Safe and Effective Care’ within the Neonatal Services is delivered in line with the Welsh Government’s National Clinical Framework: A Learning Healthcare System and NHS Shared Service Partnership Legal and Risk service to support ‘an integrated approach towards risk assessment, claims management, reimbursement and learning to improve. The individual will work with the Clinical Risk and Governance Midwife, Senior Nurse for Neonatal and Consultant Paediatrician for Clinical Risk, to promote and facilitate opportunities to learn and support the development and implementation of improvements to enhance patient safety and outcomes.’
· Act as a professional role model in order to ensure others are enablers to support risk assessment to enhance patient safety outcomes.
· Provide direct and indirect care, whilst developing others through training and education.

Qualifications/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Master’s Degree in health related subject or equivalency
- Demonstrable evidence of having a good understanding of Governance to include risks, incidents and complaints
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience working in Neonatal settings
- Experience in delivering a high standard of evidence based individual client care
Skills
Essential criteria
- Effective communicator with good leadership and interpersonal skills
Desirable criteria
- Confident with digital working
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
