A fabulous opportunity for a fixed term Operational Support Manager for Cellular Pathology  has arisen in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB.

We are looking for an engaging, enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual to work with us in delivering high levels of patient experience. This will involve working closely with clinical colleagues, senior management and administrative teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide project and managerial support encompassing a broad range of activities across Cellular Pathology. This will involve providing project management support in a number of areas, including the operational management, monitoring and reporting of outsourced work loads and waiting times information and data. This will involve evaluating project outcomes and providing recommendations for consideration.

The post holder will support recruitment across the department as well as supporting colleagues with aspects of governance related work.

  • Hold a key role within the department in the delivery of turnaround time targets. 
  • Hold a key role within the department for recruitment in line with UHB Policies and employment law.
  • Support the management team with the planning, organizing and management of staff and services to ensure delivery of a safe effective service within resource and clinical governance.
  • Support colleagues to manage concerns and complaints in line with UHB policies and procedures.
  • Be required to work with a high level of autonomy and independence using their own initiative, and has significant discretion to work within broad occupational policies.
  • Act as key point of escalation and direct contact, troubleshooting issues which may prevent timely provision of patient care.

Essential criteria
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience or training
  • Staff or project management knowledge to Post-Graduate Diploma or equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Management/Leadership qualification.
  • Project Management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Project management experience with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Experience of the use of electronic systems/databases
  • Experience of collecting, collating, analysing and presenting data.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of report writing.

Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Keyboard skills with familiarity of Microsoft Office Software e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
