Job overview

CTM (Cwm Taf Morgannwg) is looking for ambitious, dynamic, and motivated managers to lead the hospital site-based triumvirate at Princess of Wales Hospital.

We are inviting applications from experienced NHS senior leaders with estate / service management and patient flow experience being highly desirable. Working with a hospital-based Head of Nursing and Medical Lead, the successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and detailed knowledge of NHS operational management, leadership, NHS policies and procedures.  This role also requires the candidate to have a good understanding of Demand and Capacity modelling for planned and urgent care, service reconfiguration and improvement together with workforce planning methodology, whilst enjoying working in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will:

  • Provide senior site leadership and oversight on behalf of the COO (Chief Operating Officer)
  • Be responsible for the provision of on-site strategic and operational leadership to ensure the safe, high quality and efficient management of all acute services within the area of responsibility
  • Support the day-to-day senior operational management and patient flow of the acute site
  • Work closely with the allocated Care Group Director to deliver on Care Group and Health Board strategic and operational objectives
  • Manage and maintain various projects within the service at the discretion of the COO office or Care Group.
  • Role model and promote the Health Board’s values and behaviours in all daily activities.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
