Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to work in Critical Care,  Prince Charles Hospital, which is currently 10 bedded unit with plans to expand.  

We are looking to appoint a flexible person with general clerical skills, who can cope well under pressure and someone who enjoys working with members of the public and  being  a vital member of our friendly, hardworking team. 

The successful candidate will need to be forward thinking and be able to provide a full range of clerical duties to support the smooth running of the ward. 

The role is varied and includes assisting with general ward tidiness, filling, scanning, photocopying,  medical data inputting, booking out patient appointments and a pleasant telephone manner.

Good communication and organisational skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to work.

Knowledge of health IT systems is desirable although full training will be given. 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the maintenance of patient notes, computer systems, answering phone calls, scanning documents.

You will be expected to communicate with a wide range of professionals, Consultants, doctors, nursing staff, patients and relatives. 

You will be expected to organise your own workload in order to maintain and efficient and professional service.

Photocopying documents/notes as required.

Locate, collate, file and store patients notes as appropriate.

Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere within the ward making users feel comfortable and at ease.

Report any problems relevant to the ward to the senior nurse in charge.
