Cwm Taf Cares
Our philosophy Cwm Taf Cares is at the heart of everything we do as we are committed to the health, wellbeing and development of our staff.
We provide hospital and community based services to people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil. Our vision is to care for our communities and patients by preventing ill-health, promoting better health, providing excellent services and reducing the need for inpatient care wherever possible through the provision of strengthened home, primary and community care

Are you looking to develop your career and lead a vibrant, forward thinking occupational therapy service with a highly motivated workforce? At Cwm Taf University Health Board we provide integrated Primary, Community and Secondary Care across Merthyr, Cynon, Rhondda and Taff Ely Valleys.
We offer a range of occupational therapy services across in and outpatient services including older person’s mental health, pediatric services, integrated health and social care teams in the community, acute and rehabilitative teams and adult mental health. Occupational therapy is a valued profession and has enjoyed significant investment in a range of services. As a Head of Service you will be working within a Therapy Directorate, and supported to lead and develop services alongside colleagues from other therapy professions – it’s a great team!
The OT service is always keen to develop further and most recently we have implemented a joint health and social care Stay Well @ Home team based in A&E, a primary care role, a specialist post addressing Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and a Neuro Muscular pilot. To achieve this we think it is vital to invest in our staff by supporting MSc, developing leadership skills via the Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications, or Academi Wales training, journal clubs, preceptorship and development groups at all grades from support staff to Head of Service.
We are committed to progressing the wider profession through an active research culture and have recently appointed a dedicated research OT. Currently the service has a range of research projects being undertaken both locally and as part of wider multi centre trials.
We are recognised as having a warm and supportive culture and have excellent feedback from our staff and students. Would you care to join us?
