Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and innovative Digital Transformation Project Support Manager to join the newly established Digital Transformation Team. As an integral part of the Digital & Data Directorate in CTM, the team have a rapidly expanding portfolio of challenging and interesting projects, including electronic prescribing and medicines administration, transforming patient contact services and several other projects supporting direct care. 

Main duties of the job

Under the guidance of a Digital Transformation Programme Lead, the successful candidate will be expected work collaboratively with operational and clinical colleagues and the wider digital team to support the re-design of services to improve the outcomes of our patients, citizens and families that we serve, as outlined in the Health Board’s strategy CTM 2030.  

Candidates will be expected to have experience of supporting technical and clinical digital transformation projects within a healthcare environment. In particular, the post holder will have specific project management responsibilities including supporting large and complex projects, often working within tight timescales and competing demands.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 30 months to meet the needs of the service.   If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of IT Applications in clinical environments
  • Project management experience, including project management qualifications, preferable Prince 2 2
  • Use of automated project planning tools such as Microsoft Project
Desirable criteria
  • knowledge of business analysis/business change processes

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working with, and influencing, stakeholders
  • Experience of working across organisational boundaries
  • Knowledge of the NHS & implementation of ICT projects in a hospital environment.
  • Project management experience in challenging environments
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing projects where there are conflicts between stakeholders which requires a sensitive approach to resolve
  • Experience of organising training for projects.

Aptitude And Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels.
  • Must have excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Able to collect, collate multi-stranded data from a variety of sources
  • Proven strong organisational, project management and time management skills.
  • Practical experience of applying and adapting Prince2 techniques.
  • Using strong proven capability with MS Office applications including Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability in sifting through information provided by technical staff, managerial staff and suppliers to extract the important criteria for successful outcomes in managing a project.
Desirable criteria
  • Proficient in the use of MS Project or an equivalent tool.
