Job overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cardiology Nurse for the role of Nurse Consultant within ABUHB. The Successful applicant will join a dynamic multidisciplinary cardiology team.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a  senior clinical leadership role within nursing in the Health Board leading innovation, quality and person centred care.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will provide expert clinical leadership across inpatient, outpatient and community cardiac services, supporting the delivery of safe and effective evidence based care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heat failure and cardiac rehabilitation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • Ability to prioritise work against a background of rapid change.
  • Strong leadership qualities and pragmatic thinker
  • Lecturing and presentation skills with expertise in use of multimedia
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to speak Welsh
  • Excellent communicator orally, written and non-verbally.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive clinical nursing experience in the field of cardiac nursing with specialism in heart failure and/or cardiac rehabilitation especially at strategic and senior specialist level
  • Advanced clinical nursing skills beyond normal scope of practice. High level of strategic and complex-decision making skills and ability to act autonomously
  • Highly developed analytic/ communication/ persuasive and influencing skill
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of securing funding from outside bodies/organisation to support research and development activities
  • Experience and skills in the investigation and management of serious harm.
