Job overview

Due to a career break for one of our permanent staff, we have an opportunity for a secondment to join our team for 15 hours per week for a maximum of six months until the end of March 2026.

The Part One Psychology Service (POPS) team support the work of psychologists in CMHTs by providing high quality group-based interventions such as DBT or CBT groups, as well as 1:1 psychological therapy. We are based in St Cadoc’s but work across the whole of Gwent.

Our Peer Mentors have been part of the team since we started in September 2021 and are fully embedded in our service structure. Our service relies on their lived expertise and experience to ensure that patients have the best possible interventions. We think we are the only Psychological Therapies team in the UK to have peers working in our team. Our peers support our groups by providing their lived experience expertise to help people understand and get the best out of their therapy. They also have a small individual caseload of people they are supporting at various points of their recovery journey.

You would be joining our friendly team which includes dedicated administrative support, our peer mentors, two assistant psychologists, psychological therapists, CAAPs and practitioner psychologists

This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service.

If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
