Job overview
The ABUHB Flow Centre is an innovative new service that was set up to ensure that patients in the ABUHB area receive the best care to meet their needs first time.
The Flow Centre is one of the first points of contact for patients accessing healthcare in the ABUHB area. It receives referrals from Primary Care and the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust (WAST) along with other referring agencies. The Flow Centre other function our internal transfer of patients between sites.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Following a period of training and evaluation staff will be expected to work alongside doctors and nurses to direct patients to the most suitable healthcare setting. This is a 24 hour service and will operate 365 days a year. The post holder will be employed by ABUHB and there may be a requirement to work flexibly to meet service demands.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a new Flow Navigator who will preferably have experience of working in a call centre style environment and some experience within in healthcare. Working as a Flow Navigator gives you the rare chance to be part of an exciting and evolving service. The role involves directing calls from GPs, Welsh Ambulance Service Trust(WAST) Paramedics and other healthcare professionals and directing patients to the most appropriate place first time.
We are excited to hear from any individuals who can demonstrate the skills and aptitudes required to join the team. In exchange the Flow Centre will provide a commitment to deliver an in depth training programme required to work within the team. The candidate will require the drive and passion to undertake continual self-development and training whenever it should arise. We have various positions available that will cover various shift patterns.

Essential criteria
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, some of which are nonroutine, and non-routine activities such as answering queries, progress chasing, task related problem solving, acquired through experience and training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience
