Job overview

Maternity services are looking to employ  HCSW's to support midwives, mothers, babies and their families. 

Main duties of the job

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.

To welcome and support women, relatives, friends and other visitors to the clinical area.

To participate in the delivery of clinical care and undertake clinical duties, which are allocated and directly supervised by a registered midwife or registered nurse.

To share with midwives and or nurses information relating to the care of mothers and babies and to assist mothers in the care of their babies

To assist in the care of women within the hospital,  to ensure their needs are met both physically and psychologically.

To report any changes in women condition to the midwife in charge and respond to clinical emergencies.

To escort women and their babies needing to attend other departments within and the Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
