Job overview
The role of the post holder is to support the Head of Operations for Urgent Care in the management and delivery of high quality, clinically effective and cost-efficient services for clinical services within the Directorate. The post holder will be based at the Flow Centre, Vantage Point House but will be required to work at other sites within the Health Board as and when required. The post holder will have delegated management responsibilities for the service in the absence of the Head of Operations.
The post holder will be expected to working autonomously and responsible for their own workload, they will provide advice and guidance to ensure that the division provides effective planning, performance development and project management. Producing robust business cases for service developments as required. As part of the Directorate Management Team, the post holder will contribute fully to the overall management and development of clinical services within the Urgent Care Division. There will be a requirement to support the Head of Operations in developing and implementing modernisation strategies to meet national and local healthcare agendas to include the delivery of ABUHB Clinical Futures programme.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for presenting data to the Divisional Management Team and also to the Directorate, and must be able to explain clearly their findings and identify improvements, following through with timescales for delivery. To support the Head of Operations in all aspects of business and service management, in order to achieve the activity levels, quality and performance standards of the Directorate. To be responsible for taking the lead on clinical services/ projects and performance as defined by the Head of Operations.
The post holder will work closely with all disciplines to identify opportunities for pathway development, in line with the Health Board Clinical Futures Strategy and current plans to meet Welsh Government targets. They will directly manage the Service Improvement Managers and other key staff working within the Directorate across all ABUHB sites.
The post holder will be required to promptly investigate and formulate responses for formal and informal complaints on behalf of the Directorate. Meeting with clinical staff and patients as necessary.
