Job overview
An opportunity has arisen to join the Youth Team in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. This is an innovative service working with young people aged 14-25 and their families. We are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and are passionate about working together to offer treatment and care to the young people who we support.
The role will involve working with young people with a range of complex presenting problems and will include direct therapeutic work. We offer an environment where you can learn and further develop your skills. Supervision will be available from within the team to support you. We have regular education sessions that are led by different members of the multi-disciplinary team and visiting professionals that aim to keep us all updated with the latest and best clinical knowledge. As a whole team we are keen to continue developing and to ensure that we are offering the best possible service to the young people we work with. We are looking for motivated people, with good interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm and drive, for working with children and their families whilst they are going through a difficult and stressful period in their lives, in terms of their mental health and well-being.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold the relevant qualification required for non medical prescribing and have a minimum of 2 years experience within this field of expertise.
Working as a registered practitioner with a client group with complex needs, and the management of a defined caseload with minimal support.
Responsible for the joint assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of service user care packages.
To work within the model of care appropriate to area i.e. the social inclusion and recovery with the service user.
To identify any carers involved and ensure statutory obligations are met.
The post holder will be responsible for a delegated case-load.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide advice and leadership to clinical staff in areas related to clinical care including, treatment, therapy and clinical risk assessment and management.
Provide consultation support and supervision to teams on issues relating to nursing practice.
Be a role model in initiating, facilitating and promoting excellence in Evidence Based Nursing Practice.
Seek out and receive appropriate level training to keep abreast of changing trends and practices.
Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures contributing to policy development via Governance processes, particularly in relation to clinical care.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current legislation and policy that underpins mental healthcare delivery including all aspects relating to the clinical area of practice.
Understand and appreciate the influences that training has on service delivery and offer specialist guidance, advice and support on improving service and developing services.
Participate in clinical audit, practice research initiatives, quality assurance and clinical governance.
Employ motivational, persuasive, empathetic and communication skills within the clinical team.
Be able to communicate with people in a form and manner which is consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communicating.
Be proactive in seeking out different styles and methods of communicating.
Be able to produce accurate and complete records consistent with current legislation, policies and procedures.
Demonstrate clinical expertise through personal practice and development.
Maintain expert practice through further study, research, clinical practice and personal development.
Work unsupervised and organise own workload and work in a manner which maintains and promotes quality.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RMN professional qualification
- Non-Medical Independent Prescriber, degree level or above
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience at which has required supervision and mentorship of others.
- Extensive experience of practice within clinical area with proven track record in delivering high quality care
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical expertise and knowledge of mental health disorders and their treatments.
Other
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel to all Trust locations if required.
