Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Our vision for this post is to work alongside stakeholders  delivering high quality training solutions showing our staff  that we recognise the importance and value of StatMand training , acknowledging the positive contribution it makes to our roles and services we offer.

This post holder will be the trust lead in Statutory, Mandatory and Essential training for all NSFT staff, holding accountability for the compliance and subjects offered to NSFT staff.

Working within the trust's training and development department and alongside subject matter experts this role will shape and guide  the future of our StatMand training to ensure it meets national statutory, national guidance and supports in delivery of  patient safety and care 

Lead the Prevention of Management and Aggression function and team. The team provide extensive training for different staffing groups and provides support and specific interventions for staff to reduce restrictive interventions  

The postholder will use advanced analytical and IT skills to present data tailored to audience, to use this to influence change and drive compliance to variety of stakeholders

  Lead on the development and implementation of theTrust’s StatMand training plan, ensuring that this ensures NSFT is compliant to all external regulatory bodies and represents best practice.

·       Lead on the implementation of governance structures within NSFT to provide assurance of the implementation and monitoring of StatMand training.  This to include the examination, interpretation, and effective use of data, benchmarking of other organisations and working closely with Clinical, Corporate Leads and subject matter experts.

·       Responsible for preparing the organisation for the implementation of the national minimum standards for Preventing and Managing Violence and Aggression.

·       Lead on the development and implementation of the Clinical Skills Training (CTSF) Framework to ensure sustainability of the strategy and ensuring this aligns to NHSE’s StatMand framework.

·       Responsible for developing policy and practice in line with the principles of reducing restrictive practices and promoting recovery in conjunction with other stakeholders 

 

·       Act as the Trust representative at regional and national networks and meetings related to StatMand training and development of national standards.

Role Based? Role is based in Norwich, hybrid working optional with at least 50% working week in clinical areas or Norwich offices

  • Subject matter expert in ESR OLM (or future OLM systems). Providing advice, guidance to department and internal stakeholders to ensure we maximise a learning management system for staff and reporting
  • Responsible for utilising existing data and systems to ensure clinical teams practise in accordance with required standards
  • Lead on development and implementation of NSFT own PMA training manual  
  • Engage with service users to monitor their experiences of services through the local service user forums
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislative and regulatory framework changes and ensure training provision and clinical practice reflect required standards.
  • Make presentations, both written and verbally, to a wide range of groups to influence both strategy and practice.

  • • Master’s degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • • Experience of working under a RRN/BILD accredited training program OR Recent evidence of relevant training & development to role at postgraduate level OR Equivalent experience

  • • Existing knowledge and networks related to PMA within mental health service providers
