We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Mental Health Nurse, occupational therapist or social worker looking to progress their career as a clinical specialty practitioner.

We are looking for a dynamic registered practitioner with advanced clinical skills. We want applicants who are keen to be part of transformation and improvement in the area of crisis care; people who can offer strong clinical leadership, education and mentoring to the team.

West Norfolk CRHT provides 24/7 assessments and interventions as an alternative to hospital admission.  You will be responsible for assessments, risk management, care planning, and co-ordination of care delivery within a well-resourced team, supported with regular supervision and providing opportunities to work in partnership with health and social care, linking into the wider multi-disciplinary service.

In addition to this , you will be asked to act as the on-site Duty Senior Nurse/Practitioner to provide  clinical leadership  across the Acute Services Line -Inpatient, CRHT and MHLT, out of normal office hours, to ensure high standards of care and clinical excellence across services.

Main Duties of the role include:

  • To provide clinical leadership to the clinical team in the care, treatment and therapy of the client group, with a clear focus on clinical risk and its management.
  • To influence, lead and motivate staff at all levels within the clinical environment to deliver high quality care.
  • To provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding all aspects of clinical care including implementing best practise based on evidence based practice and National Guidance.
  • To sustain the clinically based training programme aimed at the development of staff within the clinical environment.
  • To provide information, education and support for service users and their carers re coping with diagnosis and treatments.
  • To participate in the Duty Senior Nurse/Practitioner rota
  • To interpret national guidelines and relevant research to inform local practice and procedures to achieve best practice.
  • To maintain own expert status by developing training and improvement projects underpinned by research and legislation.
  • To contribute to relevant forums and meetings.
  • To take part in and facilitate audits relevant to patient care.
  • To take part in RCA reviews and implement any lesson’s learnt from incidents and complaints within the clinical area.
  • Supervision of colleagues
  • Contribute to positive interfacing with staff across Trust and external services
