Job overview

(Band 7 Preceptorship applications welcome)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with children, young people and families to join West Norfolk Child Family and Young People service (CFYP), based at Thurlow House, Kings Lynn.

Psychology input is highly valued within the teams, and we utilise a formulation-based approach in our work with young people and their families. You would be joining a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychological Therapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners. We offer a wide range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

The CFYP services in West Norfolk provide specialist mental health interventions to young people up to 25 in the West Norfolk area. Currently the CFYP services in West Norfolk are divided into an under 14 CAMHS service and a 14-25 Youth service, although this is now changing in 2026-27 to an under-18s CAMHS service and a 18-25 YAMHS service. It is anticipated this post will remain across both services following this change.

Main duties of the job
