We are currently looking to recruit an Anaesthetic Practitioner/ ODP to join us as part of our friendly and enthusiastic Day Surgery theatre team.
We cover a wide range of specialties including oral, ENT, gynaecological, urological, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, general surgery, Bronchoscopy and a pain service.
We offer a busy exciting work environment and we are committed to the support and training of our staff, as such we are keen to develop suitable candidates within the role.
You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, preferably have experience in a day surgery theatre environment and possess excellent communication skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking and well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
Main duties of the job
Our Day Surgery unit comprises of 4 operating theatres, a minor procedure room and a recovery area.
You will work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team providing assistance and service in all aspects of the Operating Department and work in other areas of the Trust if required such as Main Theatre, A&E, Endoscopy, Delivery Suite and X-Ray.
You will maintain good communication and enhance effective working relationships throughout the department.
You will interpret and respond appropriately to direction from other members of the multidisciplinary team.
You will ensure that records of patient care, drugs, specimens, and implants are accurately and fully maintained and ensure effective transfer of information.
Exceptional, newly qualified staff will also be considered.

Qualifications/training and professional development
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with the UK NMC or Registered ODP/ODA.
- Member of the UK NMC or HCPC.
- UK recognised anaesthetic course
Desirable criteria
- For RN – ENB 176/183/182/HDU/Critical Care.
- Teaching qualification e.g. ENB 998, C&G 730 Mentorship Preparation Programme
Experience
Essential criteria
- Have a sound knowledge/experience of basic theatre skills and theatre processes
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a broad range of theatre specialties
- Anaesthetic practitioner experience
- Recovery Practitioner experience
Skills, abilities, and knowledge

- IT literate

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
