Job overview
**14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship**
We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard qualification within the duration of the placement.
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and versatile individuals to join the Trust as a Receptionist and administrator in Gastroenterology.
Gastroenterology is a very busy and interesting environment, having a hard-working and forward-thinking philosophy with patient care at the focus of what we do.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of a small admin team and will provide an essential first point of contact between the hospital, patients and their relatives, and all other healthcare professionals. They will deal efficiently and effectively with direct and indirect patient contact.
They will have responsibility for the administration of clinics. They will monitor patient waiting lists and will provide professional reception duties. The post holder will be required to meet & greet the patients, prepping of upcoming patients & track patient notes and be able to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
General working days to include Monday to Friday.
We are looking for cover 5 days per week.
Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
- Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above
- Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education
- upon the start of their apprenticeship
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSE’s at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent) subject to the job specification
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills
