NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Staff Nurse’s to join our Radiology Nursing team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in a rotational role. The role will support both inpatient and outpatient care in our main Radiology department as well as in the new state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre which is due to open in Spring 2025. Successful candidates will support the care of patients having a variety of imaging procedures including within Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Plain Film x-ray. Radiology has recently expanded across all modalities, with new CT and MRI scanners being installed as part a large asset replacement program as well as the building of the new Community Diagnostic Centre.
The role provides a variety of exciting opportunities to gain experience and competencies to work across a variety of imaging modalities, with the support of our Clinical Nurse Educator.
You will be expected to work across a 7-day a week service, with shift times between the hours of 07:30-20:00.

- Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and work within limits of competence.
- To plan, deliver and evaluate pre-, peri- and post-procedure care to Radiology patients and to liaise with other disciplines and departments over that care.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care by acting as a professional role model to others.
- To adhere to the statutory and mandatory regulations of the radiation protection policies.
- Implement effective assessment and delegation of workload to more junior members of staff.
- Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.
- Maintain accurate records of all care given.
- Update patient administration systems e.g. PAS to ensure real time data collection and confidentiality.
- To effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trust’s Cyber Code of Conduct. Systems will include Soliton.
- To maintain confidentiality of information (written, verbal, electronic), whilst being aware of the Freedom for Information Act.
