Job overview
The post-holder will support with operational delivery and record-keeping of key communications tasks and projects. The post-holder will deliver communication and engagement actions, including weekly newsletters and supporting with engagement events for staff and stakeholders.
It is expected that type of work undertaken by the post holder will change over time, as the portfolio of work changes. This role is open to staff who are keen to start a career in communications and engagement.
Main duties of the job
· Timely triaging of communications and engagement customer requests using the department’s workflow system
· Action opportunities to explain and promote NSFT services, developments, plans and initiatives.
· Deliver communication and engagement actions, which support and reinforce Trust’s values and strategy.
· Ensure high-quality regular content for use across a range of channels, using highly engaging words, inclusive images and video.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and teams.
· Writing, proofreading and editing copy for publications and channels.
Internal communication and engagement:
- Work closely with colleagues to facilitate communications requirements for projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that internal communications are high-quality and relevant.
- Deliver weekly newsletters with the guidance from the Senior Internal Communications and Engagement Manager
- Support with staff engagement events.
- Support with staff-facing communications and engagement projects, as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
External communication and engagement:
- Escort visitors/journalists/photographers/film crews, in line with the appropriate polices.
- Support with engagement events with staff and stakeholders..
- Writing, proofreading and editing copy for publications and channels.
Digital communication:
- Ensure that high-quality, relevant, and engaging content is regularly promoted on appropriate social media platforms and that the effectiveness is evaluated.
- Ensure that online content remains accurate, up-to-date and meets the changing needs of users.
Additional requirements:
- To ensure all staff, public and patient contact is of highest professional standard.
- Project a professional image of the Trust at all times, abiding by established policies and procedures.
- Provide communications and engagement support for ad-hoc projects, as required.
- To attend, and contribute to, appropriate internal and external meetings.
- The post holder will be required to travel to other locations, and other organisations.
- This post is one of continual development.
· Complete other duties as assigned by the line manager based on the organisation’s needs.
