As the Clinical Team Leader, you will:
- Lead by Example: Inspire your team to provide exceptional care, ensuring both operational and clinical excellence on the ward.
- Support Clinical Excellence: Work within a multi-disciplinary team, including nursing and other clinical professionals, to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Drive Quality Improvement: Engage in Quality Improvement initiatives and contribute to the strategic development of our services.
- Collaborate with Leadership: As part of the management team, work closely with colleagues and senior leaders to meet our Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and continuously improve patient outcomes.

Support and Development:
As the Clinical Team Leader on Reed Ward, you will be fully supported by a Matron and the Central Norfolk Older Adults Senior Leadership team, including the Associate Directors of Nursing, Medical, and Operations. This collaborative network is dedicated to enhancing your professional growth and ensuring the success of the team.
Hammerton Court is a modern, purpose-built facility situated on the Julian Hospital site, housing three wards that provide essential services for men and women with dementia. The unit comprises Beach Ward (male admission), Reed Ward (female admission), and Rose Ward (mixed-gender), with 13 beds on each ward.

Role Overview: As a Clinical Team Leader on Reed ward, you will lead a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in line with organisational policies and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for the management, supervision, and development of clinical staff while fostering a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:
- Provide effective leadership to the nursing and multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care.
- Coordinate the daily operations of the ward, overseeing staff allocation and workload management.
- Implement and monitor clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a role model, inspiring staff to uphold the highest professional standards.

Clinical Responsibilities:
- Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and the implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and engage regularly with patients to evaluate their treatment and support needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant mental health legislation and best practice guidelines.

Staff Development and Engagement:
- Lead recruitment efforts, support staff induction, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular supervision and appraisals for team members,
- Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and staff well-being.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Act as a representative of the ward in multidisciplinary team meetings, presenting patient progress and discussing care strategies.

Budgetary Management:
- Manage ward resources effectively, ensuring budgetary guidelines are adhered to, including staffing and supplies.
- Develop and monitor action plans to improve operational efficiencies within the ward.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC Pin.
- Significant post-qualification experience in mental health care, with previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations and understanding of mental health conditions.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
