Senior EMDR Supervisor

Band 8a

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and want to reflect the diversity of our local communities within our teams.  We welcome applications from all talented individuals with the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience

Job overview

Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies and Suffolk Wellbeing are currently seeking suitably qualified senior practitioners to lead the development of primary care EMDR practise in Norfolk and Suffolk.

This is a particularly good time to consider joining us. Both services have recently been re-commissioned and performance against many national metrics is strong. Suffolk Wellbeing has recently achieved APPTS accreditation with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Norfolk and Waveney service is currently working towards this goal. There are plans for significant investment in clinical service development. To this end, we have a formal partnership with East London Foundation Trust and an expert reference group, to share expertise and guide senior practitioners in their roles. There are already specialisms in long term conditions and peri-natal, and we are now seeking to enhance our trauma provision in line with commissioning requirements.

Main duties of the job

These are newly commissioned, clinical leadership posts, responsible for the delivery of trauma therapies across the counties, with a specific focus on EMDR supervision and practise. Successful applicants will be expected to hold a core therapeutic qualification/accreditation in a Talking Therapies-related modality, as well as EMDR consultant-level status. We are also interested in hearing from applicants who are suitably qualified psychologists/therapists and are EMDR practitioners currently working towards consultant status.
