Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Dermatology team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person who is able to work flexibly in our busy department. To work as a member of the team, carrying out work that involves direct care  in support of registered nurses as well as working in support of the medical staff in clinics and surgical clinics, ensuring patients privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.

Main duties of the job

Our care support workers carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, you will work as an integrated member of the team, assisting in clinics and with surgical procedures according to agreed policies. You will maintain the patients dignity and self respect at all times achieving a high standard of care. You will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered and will constantly promote: patient safety, effective care and a positive patient experience at each stage of the patients journey. You should have good organisational , time management  and interpersonal skills. you must be open to change and interested in your own personal development. You must have the ability to communicate effectively and be flexible within the department and have an appreciation of the principles of confidentiality.

Criteria

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (RQF accredited) or NHS England accredited Care Certificate, with evidence of full completion of the knowledge and work based assessments / relevant experience
  • Moving and Handling Certificate
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Evidence of practical training or education in a care setting
  • Previous experience in a health care setting
Desirable criteria
  • Practical skills in providing essential aspects of care.
  • Manual handling skills
