Are you a registered Pharmacy Technician with a passion for medicines safety, digital innovation and supporting colleagues through change?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Medicines Team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Technician – ePMA and Digital Medicines Support. You will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Nervecentre ePMA as part of the Trust’s strategic implementation of the wider Nervecentre Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of a major digital transformation programme, helping to improve prescribing, medicines administration, clinical workflows, data quality, staff experience and, most importantly, patient safety.
These posts are offered as a 23-month fixed term opportunity and will be based within the Pharmacy Department at HDFT.
Main duties of the job
You will:
- Act as a key point of contact for ePMA and digital medicines queries from pharmacy, medical, nursing and other clinical staff.
- Support the implementation, optimisation and safe use of Nervecentre ePMA and related digital medicines processes.
- Contribute to system build, configuration, testing, validation, user acceptance testing and change control.
- Support go-live activity, upgrades and optimisation, including floor-walking, issue logging and user support.
- Help design, deliver and evaluate ePMA training for pharmacy, nursing, medical and other clinical staff.
- Develop and maintain user guidance, quick reference guides, SOPs, FAQs and other support materials.
- Support medicines safety, governance and incident review relating to ePMA and digital medicines systems.
- Contribute to audit, reporting, service evaluation and quality improvement linked to digital medicines workflows.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, support and supervision to Digital Medicines Support Officers, pharmacy technicians, trainees, assistants or other staff as delegated.

Person specification
Qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills and personal attributes.
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of relevant post-registration continuing professional development.
- Accredited checking qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant leadership, supervisory, education/training or digital systems training.
- Significant post-registration experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital, clinical or medicines management setting.
- Experience of contributing to service improvement, audit, quality improvement or change implementation.
- Experience of using clinical systems, pharmacy systems or electronic patient records.
- Specialist knowledge of medicines management processes, medicines optimisation and safe use of medicines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate digital medicines information to staff from different professional backgrounds.
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or training in digital health, clinical informatics, project management, quality improvement or change management.
- Train-the-trainer
- Experience of supporting ePMA, EPR or other digital clinical systems.
- Experience of system testing, user acceptance testing, issue logging or change control.
- Experience of contributing to incident review or medicines governance processes.
- Knowledge of ePMA configuration, testing, optimisation or system administration.
- Ability to use reporting tools or interpret data from digital clinical systems. Ability to support system configuration, testing scripts or change control processes.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
