Job overview

The post holder will work as part of the children’s community health commissioned service within 5-19 services. 

Under the direction and supervision of 0-19 team contributing to the provision of high-quality services for children young people, parents, carers and families working within the framework of the Healthy Child Programme and Best Start In Life priorities. Being pro-active in delivering the national and Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social need, working in partnership with other agencies to meet agreed standards, objectives, and statutory requirements.

Main duties of the job

To support the 0-19 team in the delivery of the Healthy Child  Programme, ensuring services are provided within the tiered model approach – building community capacity, universal, universal plus and universal partnership plus.

Contribute to the development, delivery and reporting of health promoting activities within a variety of settings.

Deliver evidence based early intervention program's to support children, young people and families e.g., emotional health, healthy lifestyles, risk taking behaviour, health promotion 

Signpost and provide information for parents and young people, communicating information in an understandable form to parents, children, and young people.

  • NVQ Level 3 Qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with and supporting parents and families.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences both written and verbally.
  • Ability to relate to people of different backgrounds.
Desirable criteria
  • Childcare qualification.
  • Working with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations.
