Job overview
The Radiology Department at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust employs a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff, to provide high quality, customer-focused and user-friendly Diagnostic Radiology Service.
We are a friendly team with a great skill mix, which helps us support each other to provide patient-centred care.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals, who are suitably qualified and registered with the HCPC.
Previous CT experience is essential and as part of the CT scanning team you will be expected to work a variety of shifts (including long days and resident night cover) in order to provide a service 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. York Hospital operates 3 Siemens CT scanners, covering all aspects of CT scanning including cardiac CT. We are imminently acquiring a mobile CT scanner to perform lung cancer screening checks out in the community.
We are a forward thinking department committed to advanced practice currently undertaking extended roles. These roles include intravenous cannulation, fluoroscopic examinations, multi-modality advanced practice reporting and vetting of referrals
Main duties of the job
Requirements of the role:
1. Must have a degree in Diagnostic Radiography (or comparable higher education qualification in Diagnostic Radiography).
2. Must be HCPC registered.
3. Must have relevant prescribed clinical experience leading to qualification.
4. Evidence of continuous professional development.
5. Must have excellent communication skills, be calm under pressure and exhibit a caring attitude.
