We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking clinician to join our small but dynamic Dermatology Department, a team with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality care. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in the development and enhancement of our skin service.
Kettering has a strong history of excellence in skin cancer provision, supported by a dedicated team including two Cancer Nurse Specialists. The department has consistently performed well across all GIRFT measures, particularly within cancer waiting time standards.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to help integrate and strengthen skin cancer pathways across Kettering and Northampton, supporting the development of a streamlined, high-quality one-stop service for our patients across the county.
Main duties of the job
-Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
--Undertaking operating sessions and contributing to teaching activities related to skin cancer.
-Working closely with our two Skin Cancer Nurse Specialists to identify areas for service improvement and to support the management of the skin cancer patient pathway.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Running weekly cancer MDTs and supporting Cancer nurses at the SSMDT
Running skin clinics and supervising the one stop service
1-2 surgical lists per week
Supporting Professional Activities (SPA)
• Teaching juniors including Locum consultant on pathway training and 2 Associate specialists, as well as F2, Trust grade and medical students.
• SPA can be taken either within the trust, teaching or virtually when training.

Educations, Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Relevant specialty degree qualification
- MRCP + SCE (Derm)
- Minimum of 12 years’ medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent 6 years’ experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas may also be accepted
- Experience in Dermatology in the UK
Desirable criteria
- MD, PhD or other higher degree
Knowledge and Experience

- Demonstrable Team Leadership skills and experience
