Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, nurse-led service for patients undergoing gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy and bowel cancer screening, ensuring care is delivered in accordance with national and local guidelines, JAG standards and best practice.
The post holder will undertake endoscopic procedures, patient assessment, clinical examination and consent, ensuring timely investigation, evaluation and escalation of findings where required. They will provide expert advice, education and support to patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway, promoting a positive patient experience and excellent clinical outcomes.
Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will contribute to service development, clinical audit, research and quality improvement initiatives to support evidence-based practice and continual service enhancement. They will play a key role in developing nurse-led services, supporting innovation and maintaining high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and professional practice in line with Trust and NMC requirements.
