Please note: Interviews will be held face to face at our Assessment Centre on the 28th February 2026. We are unable to offer remote interviews or alternative dates. As part of this process, you will be required to be interviewed and participate in several assessments on the day.
Main duties of the job
You will assist the Trust to maintain high standards of cleanliness on the wards and departments and be expected to deliver a quality cleaning service throughout the hospital in various areas from Theatres, to ward areas or public areas such as corridors & public toilets working alongside our clinical and other non-clinical colleagues to make a positive contribution to our patients and staff experience. The Housekeeping team deliver housekeeping services 247 within the Trust and you should possess excellent people skills, have a good command of both spoken and written English, and an ability to communicate well with others. You should be an enthusiastic team player with a positive "can-do" attitude. You will be hard working, committed person with a keen eye for detail and a fully flexible approach towards your work.

Essential criteria
- Educated to or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning and Support Skills
- Level 1 in IT
Knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of cleaning in a Healthcare Environment
- Knowledge of health & safety in the workplace
- Understanding of infection control
- Previous knowledge of COSHH
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and service users
- Good organisational skills
- Educated to basic entrance level in English literacy and numeracy
- Able to operate and manipulate mechanical cleaning machines
- Able to tolerate exposure to unpleasant working conditions and bodily fluids
