Could you be one of the experienced Emergency Department Nurses we are looking for in our Paediatric Emergency Department?

We are seeking a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and dedicated team.  The post holder will be responsible for setting the quality standards for the department. 

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, committed, has the ability to work under pressure, is assertive and has a willingness to progress as a Senior Nursing leader through developing their own clinical and professional skills.

Our Emergency Department is extremely busy which provides our staff with exceptional opportunities for learning and development. Providing high quality patient care is at the heart of our work, as a Charge Nurse you will take responsibility for managing a team of Nurses in the imitation, and delivery of immediate care of a group of patients within ED, and you will participate in the further development of the service. We know it takes happy, motivated staff to produce patient satisfaction so we are investing in making our hospitals great places to work. Its about living our group values. 

Main duties of the job

An expert clinical practitioner who leads nursing practice.
 An effective communicator and the departmental leader
 A motivated, dynamic department leader, striving for improvements in care and practice; role modelling Trust Core Behaviours and Values.
An educator, ensuring that staff possess the required knowledge and skills and competency for safe, effective care and positive patient experience.
 A line manager.
 Have the authority and accountability to act – to be empowered.
Human resources management.
Accountable for quality governance within own area of practice.
 Acting as a role model and expert nurse to provide support and guidance for staff delivering care to patients.
Work with the Lead Nurses for Safeguarding and Clinicians to lead improvements Involved in the development of policies for area

  • Band 6 PED experience
  • EPALS

  • Registered Nurse Child or RSCN
  • Clinical Supervision

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience as a Band 6 in Emergency Department/ acute Urgent Care setting

  • Experience of development and leadership of change in clinical practice.
