Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join the trust’s Human Resources directorate to support the provision of administrative support to the Disclosure and Barring Service process.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to engage with a range of colleagues across the organisation and provide a customer focused service through our dedicated helpline, email support and face-to-face interactions.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a defined area of work, and possess outstanding attention to detail skills, alongside a solid
understanding of the importance of compliance with relation to DBS checks and the requirements when processing an individual’s personal data.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for administering the DBS checking of current NHFT employees, promoting the benefits of the DBS update
    service.To liaise with
  • NHFT staff members regarding the status of DBS checks and to ensure that processes and procedures are followed.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in an administrative position, with a knowledge of a range of office procedures and software programmes
  • Experience of engaging and communicating effectively with a range of Stakeholders
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of processing DBS checks, including checking ID documents, countersigning, and assessing role eligibility for DBS checks.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities on a daily basis
  • The ability to work on own initiative, seeking advice when appropriate
