Are you passionate about Co-production and value lived experience in shaping services? An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East Midlands Provider Collaboratives (EMPC) for Specialist Mental Health Services for Children and Young People, Perinatal and Adult Eating Disorders.

Working across the East Midlands in partnership in partnership with six NHS Trusts, you will lead the development of the EMPC Co-production strategy that drives inclusive and meaningful partnership with stakeholders, patients and their families.

The post holder will draw on their own experience of using services to engage with service users to gain an understanding of their experiences to shape and influence care across mental health services

•    Lead in the development and implementation of partnership working with people with lived experience, parents/carers and stakeholder to deliver the broad involvement and co‑production agenda aligned with Trust and System priorities. 
•    Implementing creative and innovative approaches to encourage engagement from diverse groups
•    Creating systems and processes that support safe, effective and meaningful service user and carer involvement
•    Provide strong and effective leadership for involvement and co production

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This innovative post focuses on the need to bring strong leadership to involvement, participation and co production across the three East Midlands Provider Collaboratives (EMPC) pathways for Children, Adolescents Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Perinatal and Adult Eating Disorders (AED). The partners within the EMPC are:

• Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Trust
• Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
• Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
The aim of this role is to develop, lead and embed a co-production strategy that improves outcomes, experience and insight for service users,
families and carers through genuine partnership working. The post holder will lead the development and implementation of an EMPC Involvement and Co‑production Strategy for CAMHS, Perinatal and AED pathways, aligned with NHFT and wider system strategies. The role will interact with the co-production and involvement arrangements within the Lead Providers for the three Provider Collaboratives.
As the Involvement and Co-production Lead, you will be working in partnership with people with lived experience, EMPC Partners, Lead Providers, Family Ambassadors, already established Perinatal and CAMHS lived experience advisory/strategic groups, local Integrated Care Boards (ICB) and NHSE to ensure inclusive co‑production activity spanning across specialised inpatient and enhanced community service provision. The role will be line managed by the EMPC Quality and Governance Lead.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Lived experience of accessing and /or caring for someone within Mental Health Services and used the lived experience to promote positive change and co-production within health
  • Knowledge of person-centred care, co-production principles and participation approaches, and how these apply across health and social care services.
  • Experience in working in leadership roles, ideally across organisational boundaries or provider collaboratives
Desirable criteria
  • A sound knowledge of CAMHS, Perinatal and Adult Eating Disorders Pathways
  • Experience of providing coaching or mentoring to colleagues

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate at all levels (written, verbal and non-verbal) to engage and influence change across the Provider Collaboratives
  • Ability to set up systems and processes, evaluate and implement changes to existing working practices
  • Ability to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources
  • Ability to use various Microsoft applications
