Band 5

Job overview

At Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), we are proud to be rated Outstanding by the CQC and recognised nationally for delivering high‑quality, compassionate and innovative care.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Medicines Management Technician to join our Mental Health Pharmacy Team. The post will be based at St Mary's Hospital in Kettering and is a permanent full time post.

The Medicines Management Technician will support the safe, effective, and timely use of medicines across NHFT’s mental health inpatient and community services, including completing medicines reconciliation and coordinating medication supply. Working closely with pharmacists, nursing teams, and community services, the postholder will help ensure high‑quality patient care through accurate medicines management and excellent multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will work closely with our Clinical Pharmacy Team and be fully supported by our Lead Pharmacy Technician and senior pharmacy colleagues.

Past experience in mental health is helpful but not essential to the role as full training will be provided by experienced Mental Health specialists. With an established clozapine clinic already in place and being run by our existing pharmacy technicians, this is a great opportunity for the right person to progress into clinical technician roles.

  • Participating in and supporting our locality Clozapine clinics, including PoCHI operation and same-day medication supply
  • Liaising with patients, families, nurses, pharmacists, community teams, GPs, acute hospitals and external providers

Working for our organisation

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
