The post-holder will work alongside an 8B psychologist in the North and other 8Bs in the West Northamptonshire CMHTs. The varied role involves leading the team of practitioner psychologists and psychology team members as well as some direct clinical work. There may be flexibility in what we are able to offer therefore if you are interested please do not hesitate to contact us on the details below.

This post benefits from a recruitment incentive of £5,000 pro rata for successful candidates over 2.5 years. Initial payment of £2,000 will be made in the 1st month with a subsequent payment of £2,000 made on the 13th month of employment. The remaining £1,000 will be paid out in the 18th month of employment. Terms and conditions apply.

A relocation package is available up to £8, 000, if the successful postholder relocates to Northamptonshire and meet other eligibility criteria. This is subject to approval.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work alongside the existing lead psychologist to share supervision and delegated management responsibilities for the CMHT psychology staff.

The postholder will work clinically with a small caseload and provide supervision to others. We are therefore keen to recruit someone with experience, specialist knowledge and skills working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties such as complex trauma. We would especially welcome candidates with CBTp or experience working with psychosis.

Working for our organisation

NHFT is rated as “Outstanding”. We are proud of the Psychology provision within the Trust, and feedback has consistently been that we have a well-developed Psychology network in the Trust which offers a strong sense of professional identity, support and strategic influence.

Psychology and psychological approaches are highly valued in the Trust, and Psychologists have the opportunity to shape clinical and organisational strategy as well as provide clinical services.

We believe that supporting and involving our staff means that they enjoy their work more, and that our clinical services are better as a result. This includes offering relevant training and development opportunities.

There are a significant number of psychologists employed within the Trust working across different specialties and there are excellent opportunities for professional development through regular monthly psychology meetings and active peer supervision networks.

There is a strong emphasis on co-production in the trust and promotion of trauma-informed approaches in the wider service and across mental health pathways.

The Trust enjoys good links with both Oxford and Leicester Doctoral training courses.

We are able to offer a hybrid of remote and face to face working.
