Job overview
Lead with Compassion. Deliver with Purpose.
Are you a dynamic healthcare leader ready to take the next step in your career? Join Team NHFT as a Primary Care Matron and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality healthcare services within a secure environment.
At Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), we’re proud to be rated Outstanding by the CQC. We’re committed to innovation, inclusivity, and making a real difference in the lives of our patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
As Primary Care Matron at HMP Lowdham Grange, a Category B men’s prison, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the Head of Healthcare. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, drive service improvements, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
You’ll:
- Provide clinical and operational leadership to the primary care team
- Oversee governance, quality assurance, and service development
- Manage staff recruitment, supervision, and performance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated care
- Ensure compliance with CQC, infection control, and health & safety standards
Working for our organisation
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be ‘outstanding’ by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.
