Job overview

The Hotel Services Department are looking to recruit either an experienced supervisor in a similar role, or someone wishing to take a step up into a supervisory position.

The Trust currently has 7 hospital sites, and a range of other clinical and administrative buildings across Northamptonshire. The supervisor post holder will be responsible for Berrywood Hosptial in Northampton. They will be expected to manage rotas, take on supervision and appraisals tasks, alongside supporting the Operations Manager with day-to-day management of the teams.

The position is 37.5 hours per week, predominately Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00/08:00-16:00 (30 Minute unpaid break daily), although flexibility for shifts and days worked is vital to meet business demands.

  • Monitoring NHS cleaning and catering standards, adhering to infection control policies, procedures, and current hygiene legislation.
  • Managing a large team including team leaders, caterers, domestics, and porters.
  • Adhering to health and safety polices and conducting mandatory training 
  • Liaising with stake holders 
  • Oversee contract performance of external providers
  • As the Hotel Services Supervisor you will be responsible for managing the domestic, catering & portering services to ensure that services are delivered to the Trust’s required standards
  • The ideal candidate will also liaise with all end users to ensure our service delivery has been met on a daily and monthly basis understanding the needs of the service.
  • Experience is an essential element for this role and experience within a healthcare environment would be beneficial.
  • You will demonstrate an enthusiasm for professional development and will be motivated to further your understanding and skills through various training opportunities.

Car owner/driver and current driving license essential or access to a car as you will be required to travel to multiple locations across the county (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge / experience of working in a domestic facilities industry environment and able to demonstrate practical cleaning skills
  • Experience in a domestic cleaning or catering environment at a mid or senior level and or qualifications at Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of computer technologies and software packages

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • General education including literacy and numeracy
  • An understanding of the importance of health and safety
  • An understanding of the importance of hygiene
