Job overview
The Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Service (CPTSD) is a countywide specialist service that works to enhance understanding of complex trauma and promote the delivery of effective interventions across community services in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will be a highly valued member of the team, supported in their role by colleagues within CPTSD, attending & contributing to professional therapeutic activities, waiting well initiatives and co-delivering group interventions and staff training with other members of the team.
Main duties of the job

Co-facilitate group sessions alongside a qualified member of the Team
- Collaborate in using outcome information to inform and develop good practice

Help develop systems and audit projects to allow any data collected to inform Trust management, commissioners, users and other relevant stakeholders of the needs of this population.

Contribute to further service development that will aim to promote trauma therapies
· Regular clinical and management supervision will be provided by a qualified member of staff . There are a range of development opportunities due to the service’s role in training others, its internal CPD opportunities, commitment to the integrated nature of Psychology Services across NHFT.
It is essential that applicants have a recognised undergraduate qualification and have means to travel.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
- An understanding of how psychological models, concepts and theories apply to health care and intervention.
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
Desirable criteria
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, research design and analysis.
- Experience delivering groups
- • Learned and/or lived experience of the barriers facing service users from BAME backgrounds in accessing psychological healthcare
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to service users, carers and colleagues in a way that addresses psychological resistance.
- High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be emotive.
- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate a high standard of report writing and experience using microcomputers for databases or data-analysis
