Knowledge Requirement
Essential criteria
- Ability to communication with all levels of staff
- Sound clerical background providing knowledge of relevant procedures
- Computer literate, familiarity with Microsoft and other packages, with high level of accurate keyboard skills
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets, i.e. PAS, Excel, or similar
- Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient Data Systems.
- Knowledge of NHS or service provider in general
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working in a team
- Good knowledge of confidentiality and Data Protection principles
- Understanding of Health and Safety
- Understanding of Equality and Diversity
Desirable criteria
- Medical terminology
- Knowledge of systems and processes used in NHS
- Knowledge of RTT and Access Policy
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general education including English GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in relevant subject

- Formal typing qualification
- Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Administrator and Receptionist diploma (AMSPAR)
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
